Wet Shirt Sighting

I work part time as a supermarket cashier. Last evening a man with his son, probably about 13, came through my line. The kid was wearing a black, loose-fitting cotton T-shirt with a design on the front. I couldn't help notice by the way it was clinging to him that it appeared to be wet. As they drew closer it became obvious. "How was your swim?", I asked. (There's a recreational pond nearby). He said that he was at soccer practice and ran through the sprinklers, since it was still 100 F (38C)outside. (This was almost 7:00 PM). I said, "That's great. I wonder why more people don't do that", and they agreed. He had on some kind of black shorts that were mostly hidden by his shirt. His shoes and socks appeared to be dry, so he may have changed out of his cleats. I neglected to ask him if any of his teammates got wet, too.
Even with our extreme heat lately these sightings are far too rare. Our area has several splash pads, and moms treat it like going to a public pool or beach. Swimsuits, rash guards, towels, and change as soon as possible after so the kids are hot again. People need to lighten up and be spontaneous like this kid I saw.
